The Bright Side of Dark

I read about this in a newsweekly yesterday and was very impressed.

A woman named Kyle Paxman of San Diego cancelled her wedding six weeks before it was to happen because she found out her fiance was cheating on her. Everything had already been paid for: the venue in Vermont, 40 guestrooms, catering, etc.

Paxman turned lemons into lemonade by converting the day into a charity fund-raiser instead. 125 guests attended the party which was a benefit for the Vermont Children’s Aid Society and CARE.

She will soon depart for her “honeymoon” in Tahiti – her mother will be her companion on the trip.

Paxman said “I don’t feel jilted. I feel strong, empowered, moving on.”
